Process for Study & Work Program



Step 1: Book your Consultation (here)

Consultation is conducted via Whatsapp, Zoom or email (for the hearing impaired). At the time of your consultation, you will be contacted by a consultant from Canstudy Consulting. If you are under the age of 18 please ensure that your parent, guardian, or sponsor is present at time of the consultation.


The consultation requires a deposit of $100 USD + $13 USD taxes. Upon completing your consultation, you will be provided with a summary of what was discussed and along with a career plan. This plan maps out the academic programs that were recommend for the client along with actions that can be taken after graduation to secure their aspired career. If you decide not to purchase an International Education Consultation (IEC) package the deposit and taxes are non-refundable.


The following is covered in the consultation:

  1. Introduction of Intake Consultant
  2. Explanation of the Canstudy Study and Work program and its requirements
  3. Outline of the immigration status progression of an international student in Canada as experienced by the consultant
  4. Very detailed explanation of the process undertaken by Canstudy and the services provided to clients
  5. The responsibility of each player involved ie. Canstudy, colleges, client, parents/person funding client's education
  6. Revision and confirmation of client’s personal information
  7. Assessment and confirmation of client’s educational background
  8. Explanation of the various academic credentials and levels of study in Canada
  9. Description of the Canadian education system which includes the differentiation between colleges and universities
  10. Discussion around the social, financial, and environmental factors to be considered
  11. Program advising which includes exploration of client’s field of interest
  12. Discussion of client’s career goals in order to create a Career Plan
  13. Explanation of the six (6) IEC packages available
  14. Highlight funding opportunities
  15. Finalizing a budget for potential expenses (IEC package, permit application fees, tuition and living expense)

Step 2: Student select/purchases IEC package (here)

After the consultation, the prospective student will need to inform Canstudy which of the IEC packages they have selected.

Canstudy will then send the student the retainer agreement and information to pay the necessary fees. Please note if the student is under the age of 18, the agreement must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

After signed retainer agreement and confirmation of payment (or payment arrangement) has been received, the student officially becomes a client of Canstudy.



Step 3: College/University Application Submission

Canstudy will present client with a list of institutions and programs that match their goals, budget, career choice and desired environment.

After the student has made their choice (s) Canstudy submits the applications.

Please note the IEC package only covers submission and fees for one (1) application. Any application beyond the first will incur an additional significantly discounted charge.



Step 4: Study Permit/Visa application

After receiving an offer from the college/university, Canstudy works with the client on preparing and submitting the study permit/visa application.

If the client will be accompanied by their partner and/or children, assistance is also provided with their applications. It is at this point in the process that the client would need to purchase a Spousal or Accompanying Dependent Package. (here)



Step 5: Pre-Departure Preparation

Upon receiving the approval of the study permit/visa, Canstudy starts preparing the client, and their family,for departure and what is to come in their new home.

Important preparations are made such as:

  • Provide pre-departure information pamphlet
  • Arrange cellular phone plan
  • Arrange accommodation
  • Host pre-departure webinars
  • Book flights
  • Arrange airport pickup


  • Step 6: Arrival

    It is extremely important that we continue nurturing our Canstudiers after they arrive in Canada. We have multiple post-arrival packages and services (link to services page) that are available at an additional cost. Our services cover all aspects of this phase including assistance with finding jobs and providing information needed to acquire key resources and enroll children in school.



    Step 7: Post-Graduation Immigration

    Upon completing their post-secondary studies, Canstudiers have a variety of options to remain in Canada after graduation. These can be discussed and explored by contacting us via email or phone.
